- About the event

## Fifteen editions building the **meeting point** for lithium in South America.

Argentine lithium stopped being a promise and became a global protagonist. Since 2011, Lithium in South America has been the stage where that transformation is discussed firsthand.

### The first event of its kind **born in the region.**

Lithium in South America was born in 2011, when Argentine lithium was taking its first steps as an industry. Since then, **Panorama Minero**, celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2026, has held the International Seminar every year in the very territory where the projects take place: with a rotating venue across **Salta, Jujuy and Catamarca**, the three provinces that concentrate the country's largest lithium resources and operations.

Over fifteen editions, the event evolved from a regional gathering into one of the industry's most important global conferences, mirroring the growth of the sector itself: more projects, more investment, more international players, and an increasingly central role for Argentina on the world lithium map.

With the largest volume of attendees, speakers and lithium industry players in Latin America, it is today one of the most recognized events in the world in its category, with a **96% post-event satisfaction rate** among participants.

### The central mineral of the global **energy transition.**

Lithium is the critical input behind the batteries that power electromobility and energy storage. The speed of that transition is redefining who produces, who invests, and who sets the price of the mineral over the next decade.

### From emerging player to **structural protagonist.**

Argentina holds the world's largest lithium resources, within the Lithium Triangle it shares with Chile and Bolivia. Its salt flats produce lithium carbonate at costs up to 40% lower than lithium produced from refined Australian spodumene, the world's main source of supply, according to CRU Group.

This combination of geological scale and cost advantage explains why the country is now home to more than 55 active lithium projects, the strong investor interest across the region, and why nearly half of U.S. lithium imports already come from Argentina. A resource that will be crucial to the energy transition, as well as to the geopolitical and technological shifts currently underway.

### The Lithium Triangle: **the event's real-world stage.**

Salta, Jujuy and Catamarca concentrate the country's highest density of lithium projects and share, together with Chile and Bolivia, the so-called Lithium Triangle, the region with the largest volume of identified resources worldwide. Lithium in South America rotates its venue every year among these three provinces, bringing the conference to the territory where production and investment decisions are made.

Managing Director Celeste González Panorama Minero "Organizing events and connection initiatives for the mining industry in the very territories where the activity takes place is part of Panorama Minero's identity. Lithium in South America is a clear example: since its origins, it has been held in the three northwestern Argentine provinces that lead lithium development. We take pride in working alongside each province at every edition, strengthening ties and creating spaces that help build better mining, together."

### The leaders who **shape the program** for the 15th edition.

The agenda of Lithium in South America is built together with an honorary committee made up of C-level industry leaders, multilateral organizations and sector specialists, who define the thematic focus and bring the strategic perspective for the year.
